Hi,
So it's recently dawned on me that it would be pretty cool if I could use my keyboard and mouse for both my Macbook and my PC, or even more specifically, enabling my cursor to go from one machine to the other when I go to the side of one of the screens and it appears on the other.
I found some software called Synergy and discovered they had discontinued the free version. I don't want to pay for software if I don't know if it's any good. I've made that mistake before. Buying software without knowing if it'll fulfil your needs or wants is like crossing a road blindfolded to get to the shop on the other side, except you don't die if the software sucks. Once I know software is good enough I'll buy it.
I'm currently using ShareMouse 4.0.42 the free version and on the machine that the mouse and keyboard isn't plugged into, it lags like hell. There's latency and it's jerky. Also it often takes a while for it to realise it's at the side of the screen and it's suppose to activate the cursor and keyboard for the other machine. It's nothing to do with my internet because my housemates and I are paying for 100mbps download speed. My Macbook is very powerful and my PC is relatively powerful.
I would also quite like to be able to drag an drop files from one machine to the other like you can with Share Mouse. Copying from the clipboard of one machine and pasting on the other would also be very helpful.
Has anyone got any suggestions for software I can try out, or any fixes for Mouse Share?
Please help.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
